Situated in Darlington, County Durham, we are a family-owned glass and glazing business that has been serving the North East region for decades. With a rich history dating back to 1948, our company has evolved from humble beginnings to become a leading provider of glass and glazing services.
Our Story
Founded in 1948, our company has undergone several transformations since its inception. Originally established as Elders Walker & Company Limited, we were acquired by Pilkington PLC in the late 1970s and later sold to the Polton Glass Group in 1998. In 2005, Peter Kelly, our Managing Director, acquired the Darlington branch from the Polton Glass Group, marking the inception of Elders Walker Glass Limited.
Our Team
Our team consists of highly skilled professionals with decades of experience in the glass and glazing industry. With a combined 165 years of expertise, our team includes:
- Peter Kelly, our Managing Director, who has been in the industry since 1967.
- Dorothy Hansom, our Company Secretary, who joined the company in 1968.
- Dave (Wally) Walton, our skilled glasscutter, who started working with us in 1968.
- Our sales and administration team, led by Lynn and Karen Kelly, Peter's wife and son's wife respectively.
- Sarah Rickaby, our accounts manager.

Concerns about Customer Service
Many reviewers have expressed disappointment and frustration with the customer service provided by Elders Walkers Glass. Some have reported being talked down to and spoken to in a rude and ignorant manner by the manager's wife. Others have experienced long delays and poor communication when trying to resolve issues with their orders.
Quality of Products
Several reviewers have reported receiving low-quality products, including glass with imperfections and chips. One reviewer had to return a piece of glass twice, only to have it still arrive damaged. Another reviewer received glass with a 19mm scratch, which was deemed acceptable by the company.
Unreliable and Unprofessional
