Our Story

Jack Brunsdon was a craftsman who had a passion for creating high-quality doors and windows. In the 1940s, he opened his first workshop in Oxford, producing a wide range of products, from staircases to furniture and cabinets. Over the years, Jack's business evolved and adapted to the changing times. He diversified into toboggan manufacture in 1941 and later turned out deckchairs based on a concept he had spotted in France.

Heritage and Craftsmanship

As the years passed, Jack's focus shifted to the production of high-quality doors. These doors were installed in prestigious locations, including universities, banks, church buildings, public houses, and prestige homes throughout the region. In 1964, as advances were being made in glass technologies, Jack sensed an opportunity and formally incorporated window production into the business.

A Legacy of Excellence

For more than fifty years, Jack Brunsdon & Son has continued the tradition of making and installing the finest windows and doors. The business has been acquired by renowned Swedish company, Inwido, Europe's leading supplier of wooden windows and doors. Despite the acquisition, Jack Brunsdon & Son remains a British brand committed to carrying on Jack's tradition of Heritage, Craftsmanship, and Service with the addition of Scandinavian technology.

Located in the grounds of the beautiful Blenheim Palace, our flagship showroom is a wonderful place to visit. Formerly the original store building for the mill next door, it boasts beautiful high ceilings showcasing original beams and architecture. When you visit our showroom, you can view our wide range of bespoke and hand-crafted products. Enjoy a cup of tea and a biscuit with us while we discuss your design ideas for your home.
