Installation Issues and Poor Workmanship
Both reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with the installation and workmanship of their sash and case windows. The first reviewer, Louis Heering, reported that the brass hardware, seals, and rope were painted over, and some windows were already stiff and didn't seal properly, despite being less than four years old. Additionally, the inside wasn't finished against the existing woodwork, and the outside stonework was damaged and left bare, exposing the foam.
Comparison with Other Companies
Neil Purves, the second reviewer, compared Custom Joinery with other companies, including Moz Murray, Anglian, and Jax, and found that Custom Joinery offered the best value and draught proofing. However, he was disappointed that the company did not apply foam sealant around his dormers, resulting in draughtier windows than the ones replaced.
Concerns and Disappointments
Both reviewers expressed disappointment with their overall experience with Custom Joinery. Louis Heering described the job as "really poor, " while Neil Purves stated that it remains to be seen if the proposed fixes will work.
